MMKJL conducts its development activities under the sustainable approach. It believes that sustainable development of hydropower project can be achieved only through implementation of Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and involvement affected community with such beliefs, MMKJL has implemented the environmental mitigation measures against the environmental impacts incurred due to project activities.

Moreover, MMKJL has integrated social and environmental concerns through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach. Under the CSR, MMKJL has conducted hospital service improvement, school infrastructure development, support to advance education system for school student, trainings for self-employment at different places, infrastructure development (road, bridge) and many more works.
